THE WOODLANDS
The Woodlands are Hannah and Samuel Robertson, a wife and husband singer-songwriter duo. Their songs are crafted of wonder and exploration, both within and faraway - poetic lyrics on ribbons of melody that wander the musings of human emotion.
Mutually afflicted by wanderlust, they roamed the US, Europe and Central America, exploring and writing songs together. It was during their travels the pair felt the pull to pursue song-making. They landed in Portland, Oregon and recorded their first album over a year, tucked away on rainy nights spent in their makeshift bedroom studio - singing and strumming into the folds of blankets and couch pillows. The first eponymous album emerged.
What now, they asked? What next? Over the following years Hannah and Samuel have written, recorded and produced several more albums and pursued a handful of other tinkerings (Samuel has an indie folk project Quiet Arrows and electronic remix project Mt. Mineral). The Woodlands have circled back around again to the mountains of Idaho to continue living a simple and quiet life, waiting to be lured yet again by faraway travel and the writing of more songs.
Their songs have been featured in over a hundred tv shows, ads, films and documentaries.
