Designing the Sound of a New Adventure for Millie Bobby Brown and Yas Island

When a story lives as much in its sound as it does on screen, every sonic detail matters. Tracks & Fields was proud to handle the sound design and final mix for the Stranger Things x Yas Island campaign teaser. A short film that signals the start of a new adventure for Millie Bobby Brown, and a playful goodbye to Hawkins.

Titled “Millie Bobby Brown’s Yas Island Adventure Is About to Begin”, the teaser leans into the familiar language of Stranger Things while opening the door to something new. Our role was to make that transition feel seamless, cinematic and unmistakably authentic.

From Hawkins to Holiday Mode

The film opens in a place fans know well. Millie in her cast chair, between takes, casually saying goodbye. The dialogue feels unguarded and natural.

As the moment unfolds, the sound design stays deliberately restrained. Subtle room tone, gentle movement, a sense of anticipation rather than spectacle. When the message starts to come through, letter by letter, Y. A. S., the soundscape shifts. This is where T&F focused on pacing and clarity, allowing each beat to land while keeping the tone playful and mysterious.

The mix was crafted to support the performance, never overpowering it, but guiding the viewer toward the reveal. “Yas. Yas. Island. That’s where I’m going.

The Music That Defines the Mood

At the heart of the teaser is music from the original Stranger Things soundtrack by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. Iconic, minimal and emotionally charged, the track instantly places the viewer back in the show’s universe.

Working with such a recognizable piece meant treating it with respect. Our approach was to let the music breathe, preserving its analog texture and tension while carefully shaping its relationship with the dialogue and sound design. The track swells and recedes at just the right moments, carrying both nostalgia and excitement. It bridges the emotional gap between saying goodbye and looking ahead to a holiday on Yas Island.

The result is a mix that feels true to Stranger Things, while serving the energy and promise of the campaign.

A Teaser Built on Feeling

This project was about more than just technical execution. It was about tone. The warmth of Millie’s performance, the familiarity of the soundtrack, and the subtle clues hidden in sound all work together to create a moment that feels intimate, cinematic and fun.

T&F’s sound design and mix were crafted to support that feeling, guiding the audience from a quiet goodbye to the thrill of what’s coming next.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Yas Island adventure is about to begin, and we’re proud to have helped set the tone for the journey.
