Music Supervision for ‘Und dann passiert das Leben’
On November 6, 2025, ‘Und dann passiert das Leben’ will premiere in German cinemas – a poignant drama starring Anke Engelke and Ulrich Tukur. Tracks & Fields had the privilege of supporting the film through complete music supervision, including research, clearance, and licensing.
Tracks & Fields’ Role in the Project
Our collaboration with the creative team ensured that the film’s emotional arc was enhanced through carefully selected music. Tracks & Fields’s responsibility covered every aspect of music integration:
- Music Supervision: Shaping a musical framework that underscores the subtle intimacy of the story while heightening the dramatic peaks.
- Music Research: Identifying pieces that resonate with the narrative, from understated cues to tracks that highlight pivotal moments.
- Clearance and Licensing: Securing legal rights for all licensed songs so the film is cleared for theatrical release and future distribution.
Several tracks in diverse tonal ranges were licensed, balancing quiet emotional depth with music that frames the film’s central turning points.
About the Film
The story follows Hans (Ulrich Tukur), who is on the verge of retirement. Instead of excitement, he and his wife Rita (Anke Engelke) feel unease. After decades of routine, the prospect of renewed closeness feels unsettling. When a tragic accident caused by Rita results in a man’s death, both she and Hans are confronted with profound questions about responsibility, love, and the fragility of life.
The stellar cast also includes Lukas Rüppel, Maria Hofstätter, Markus Hering, Michael Kranz, Katja Lechthaler, and Sina Reiß.
A Layered Cinematic Experience
‘Und dann passiert das Leben’ is a finely observed drama about aging, love, and rediscovery. Tracks & Fields is proud to have shaped the film’s musical identity and bridged creativity with legal certainty.
We are excited for audiences to experience the film – and its music – when it hits German cinemas on November 6, 2025.
