Member Spotlight: Vampire Blow

Vampire Blow

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, the up and coming rock band Vampire Blow first met while on an international flight to New York, and have been making music together ever since.

The story goes that members Morten Søgaard (guitar) and Thomas Persson (drums) became fast friends when they sat next to each other on the New York flight in 2008. Once back home in Denmark, Søgaard was introduced to further member Jasper Spanning (bass and vocals), and after rehearsing together, Vampire Blow was born.

Vampire Blow’s music was originally influenced by Rockabilly and Rock’n’Roll music of the 50s and 60s. However, finding that the Rockabilly scene was too restrictive for their musical development, the band decided to incorporate more genres when creating their sound. With influences from the likes of Black Lips, Jonathan Wilson, George Harrison and Tame Impala to name a few, Vampire Blow’s music has clear influences of rock’n’roll, garage and psychedelia.

Together Vampire Blow have released one album, their 2003 debut ‘Unicorn’, but they are currently working on new music and are set to release their new single ‘Real to Me’ very soon, with a video they filmed while on a recent trip to Colombia, where they played at the Festival de La Coneja Ciega in Bogotá.

Most recently the band’s track ‘Gimme Some’ was sync licensed by Tracks & Fields for the Mazda MX 5 advert campaign.
