The role
We are seeking an entrepreneurial and commercially minded Managing Director to establish and lead our UK operations. Reporting to the founders and partnering with our UK based Strategic Growth Advisor, you will be responsible for building the London business from the ground up. You will be the face of the brand in the UK, tasked with securing new business, managing key accounts, and ensuring our service matches the sophisticated needs of the London market. This is an exceptional opportunity for a leader to take ownership of a major territory and drive the next era of growth for an established international music agency.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Strategic Management
- Act as the primary lead and “go-to” for the UK operation, taking full responsibility for local business management.
- Oversee local operational compliance and serve as the lead point of contact for UK legal and accountancy partners.
- Ensure the UK entity is fully aligned with our global headquarters, managing the transition from initial setup to a permanent, high-performing operation.
- Take ownership of the UK budget and commercial milestones, providing regular, transparent reporting on the health and growth of the business.
Commercial Growth & Business Development
- Identify and secure exceptional music projects from UK-based agencies and brands.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand our reach within global advertising holding groups and independent creative shops.
- Actively manage the commercial pipeline and convert market momentum into sustainable revenue.
Client & Creative Leadership
- Establish and evolve long-term client partnerships, moving from project-based work to strategic advisory roles.
- Partner with our creative team on high-level projects, remaining resourceful and leveraging your personal network to ensure successful delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, anticipating problems and providing smooth, cutting-edge creative solutions.
Team Building
- Define future UK talent profiles and lead the recruitment of a high-performing local team as the business scales.
- Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and solution-based thinking.
Desired Experience
- Leadership: Experience in a leadership or management role within the music, advertising, or creative industries.
- Industry Network: An extensive and active network of contacts within the UK advertising, production and brand landscape.
- Domain Expertise: A strong understanding of music supervision, licensing, and original music production.
- Business Acumen: Proven track record in securing new business and managing the commercial health of a department or agency.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
Personal Attributes & Culture Match
- Direct & Transparent: We value clarity and straightforwardness in all professional interactions.
- Solutions-Based: You focus on making things possible and mitigating drama rather than just identifying problems.
- Resourceful: You are a ‘can-do’ operator who is happy to be hands-on to get a project over the line.
- Strategic & Musical: You combine commercial fluency with a genuine musicality and appreciation for the creative process.
- Team Player: You are a global collaborator who understands how to work effectively with international teams.
The Reward
- A competitive salary and uncapped bonus structure.
- The opportunity to lead significant international expansion with high levels of autonomy.
- Travel opportunities to major industry events such as Cannes Lions and Ciclope.
- Access to proprietary tech and a global team of specialists to support your growth.
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
We believe diversity is a core strength that makes our team more creative and effective. We don’t just accept difference; we celebrate it for the benefit of our people, our services, and our community. We are committed to equal opportunity regardless of background, identity, neurodiversity, or socio-economic status.
We recognise that success requires different levels of support, and we are committed to removing barriers to entry and progression. We offer flexible working as standard and actively encourage applications from those returning to the workforce.
Our recruitment is accessible to all. If you require reasonable adjustments – for physical, neurodivergent, or any other needs – please let us know at any stage. We will work with you to ensure you have the best environment to demonstrate your skills.
We strive to ensure every team member feels they belong and can bring their whole self to a culture where every voice is heard, regardless of seniority or tenure.
