Polar Patrol is a publishing company set up by Jonny, Nathan and Gary from Snow Patrol. We aim to help nurture new songwriting talent without the pressure of a long-term contract with Jonny, Nathan and Gary taking on A&R duties, together with Steve Farris and Nat.

“We intend to do one-album deals at a time so we don’t tie anyone into a five-album deal because we’ve been through it ourselves,” says Jonny. “Hopefully if we do a good job they’ll come back and do another album with us.”

Polar’s first signing was Johnny McDaid, formerly of Northern Ireland outfit Vega4. His CV already includes writing with Carina Round, Ingrid Michaelson and German dance producer Paul van Dyk, with the pair co-writing the finale song for the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Berlin wall being torn down. Johnny is currently writing with Gary Go, Example, Karima Francis, Rosi Golan and Paul van Dyk for his forthcoming album and many others.

Polar recently signed Brighton artist, Kidda who is in the process of recording his next album, to be released on UK label Skint. One of his songs is currently being used for the latest Warner Leisure advert and previously one of his songs was used for a Bacardi ad
